How it is played
- The host stacks one card per guest with the groom card in, puts a sticker on every circle and shuffles.
- She hands out the cards and calls “Scratch!”; everyone scratches with a coin at the same time.
- The guest who finds the groom wins the prize; everyone else reads their consolation line aloud (“Not the groom. Hold your horses.”).
Who has the groom? One card, one winner
There is one groom card, so there is one winner. The groom is an illustration, never a photo or a real face. The 31 decoys are 16 retro characters (an astronaut, a beekeeper, a gondolier, a lifeguard and more), and up to 16 guests every card shows a different one.
How the who has the groom game works
The host prepares the cards, so she does not play. A prep page comes first with scale bars, a sticker test circle and a table of how many sheets to print for your group size. Smaller groups print 2 sheets and deal only the cards they need.
What you need for the who has the groom scratch-off game
A printer, white cardstock, scissors or a trimmer, a coin per guest, a prize and 2 in (51 mm) round scratch-off stickers, one per card. The stickers are not included. No stickers? Small envelopes work instead.
Find the groom: scratch off, then read your line
Cards are 3.5 × 2.5 in, eight per sheet with crop marks; the groom card is always card sheet 1, top left, so you never lose it in the stack.
