Bachelorette Party Decorations: A Room-by-Room Plan

A bright rental living room wall with a blush, berry and cream pennant garland over a grey sofa, a cluster of pink and berry balloons and a silver fringe curtain in soft daylight.

You got put in charge of the decorations, and the rental opens in a few days. Bachelorette party decorations come down to four spots and a take-down: the entrance, the drinks table, the photo wall and the bride's room.

The plan at a glance

Start with the spots, not the shopping list. A bachelorette rental has four places where guests stand around and take photos, so that's where the decorations go. Everything else can stay bare.

StepWhat to doWhat to watch for
1. EntranceOne welcome sign at the door or on the entry tableAsk the owner what may touch the door and walls
2. Drinks tableA drinks sign, flags on the cups and a few toppersUse battery candles only
3. Photo wallA pennant banner, one hashtag sign and a few propsMeasure the wall first
4. Bride's roomA "reserved" sign and small surprises on her bedKeep it to a few pieces
5. Take-downPeel, count, bag, photographDo it before check-out, not at check-out
1 Entrance welcome sign 2 Drinks table sign, flags, toppers 3 Photo wall banner, props 4 Bride's room sign, tags 5 Take-down peel, count, bag

A room looks decorated when a few big pieces stand where people look, and a lot of small pieces rarely do that.

Every spot above can be filled with printed paper or with decor you order. Printed pieces carry her name and come as one set for one price. Ordered pieces add shine and volume, but they need delivery time. Compare the two, then decide spot by spot.

LookFlat paper in the pink and berry design, on the paper you choose. Cardstock stands up better than copy paper.Shine and volume that paper cannot give: foil, balloons, a mirror ball. Colors vary by listing, so check them against your party colors.
After the partyKeep a sign as a keepsake and recycle the rest.Balloons deflate. A mirror ball and the foil curtains can go up again.

Print it if you want her name on it, the party is in a day or two, or you want one look across the room.

Buy it ready-made if you want shine and volume for the photo wall, or you have no printer.

Many groups mix both: print what carries her name, buy what paper cannot do. We have not tested the Amazon items; what the table says about them comes from their listings.

Step 1: Welcome the group at the entrance

Put one sign where guests walk in. It tells everyone they're in the right place, and it is the first photo of the weekend. Bride to be party decor works best here when it's big and simple, because people see it while carrying bags.

You have three sizes to pick from. An 8 x 10 in sign fits one Letter sheet and sits in a frame or on an easel. A 16 x 20 in sign is 7 sheets, 6 tiles plus an assembly sheet. An 18 x 24 in sign is 10 sheets, 9 tiles plus an assembly sheet. The big sizes need foam board or poster board and an easel, or a print shop, and the tiles carry ready-made wording only.

In the Bride to Be Sign, the two designs read "Welcome to the Bachelorette Weekend" and "Cheers to the Bride to Be". Her name, the date and a city go on the 8 x 10 versions only. If you want her name large, print the 8 x 10 and have a print shop enlarge it.

Hang nothing on the door itself unless the owner said yes. An easel, a table or a shelf by the door does the same job and leaves no mark.

For a sign, banner and drink and photo pieces that share one look, The Bachelorette Decor Bundle holds all three in one $12 PDF. Stay with this plan if you'd rather mix your own pieces. The spots and counts below work either way.

Step 2: Set up the drinks table

Give the drinks one table and one sign. Guests then know where to go, and the rest of the room stays clear. A drinks table needs a sign, something to mark the cups and a few table touches.

A bar sign in 8 x 10 in takes one sheet, and the 5 x 7 in version fits two to a sheet if the table is small. Fold-over flags in 3.5 x 1 in sizes mark whose cup is whose: 16 flags come on one page, and you fold each one around a straw. Cupcake toppers are 2.25 in circles, 12 on one page, and they also work on a cheese plate or a fruit bowl.

Keep an alcohol-free option on the table with its own sign line, so everybody has a drink that fits the toast. Classy comes from restraint here: two colors, one metallic, and nothing on the table that isn't a drink, a snack or a sign.

For candlelight, use battery candles. The National Fire Protection Association's candle safety sheet says to use flameless candles and to keep real candles at least 1 foot (30 centimeters) away from anything that can burn. Table runners, paper signs and balloons all burn.

Step 3: Build the photo wall

Choose the wall everyone sees from the sofa, and hang the banner there. That wall becomes the backdrop for every group photo, so pick the one with the best light and no outlet or thermostat in the middle.

Measure before you print. A ready-made BRIDE TO BE garland with a sparkle at each end hangs about 6.3 ft, and BACHELORETTE with sparkles about 6.8 ft. In the Bride to Be Banner the BRIDE TO BE garland is 13 pennants on 7 sheets, two pennants to a sheet, each 4.9 x 7.4 in with a 2.75 in letter. A name like MAYA is 4 sheets. You string the pennants about 1 in apart and tape the string behind the first and last one.

Hang the string from removable hooks or tape made for painted walls, or tie it between two pieces of furniture. Try the tape on a hidden spot first. Nothing stays on a wall without some risk to paint, so ask the owner if you're not sure.

A balloon garland or a backdrop is heavier than a paper string, so give it the same treatment with more support. Tie it to furniture or a stand, use more than two hooks, and skip it if the owner says nothing may touch the walls. Both are your own purchases, and the files here don't include them.

A hashtag sign and a "strike a pose" sign give people something to hold. Add photo props on sticks: the Printable Bachelorette Decor Pack has 14, 8 illustrated props and 6 speech bubbles, on 7 pages. The sticks are yours to bring.

A balloon garland over the banner fills the wall. With kids at the weekend, know the rule on latex. The Consumer Product Safety Commission's fact sheet gives the federal warning wording that children under eight can choke or suffocate on uninflated or broken balloons, and it says to discard broken balloons at once. Pick up every piece that pops.

Step 4: Make the bride's room special

Give her one spot that is only hers. A bachelorette rental is busy, and a few quiet touches in her room tell her you thought about her, not just the party.

A "Reserved for the Bride" sign goes on her door or her chair. A "Cheers to the Bride" sign from the decor pack is a good bedside piece. It takes one 8 x 10 in sheet, with her name and the date filled in. The favor tags come 18 to a set on 2 pages, 9 thank-you tags and 9 recovery-kit, bride-squad and sweet-treat tags. Tie a few to small bags and leave one on each guest's pillow or at her seat.

Keep it small. Three or four pieces on her bed and nightstand look planned. Twenty look like clutter, and she has to sleep there.

Skip real candles in the bedroom. The NFPA sheet says to avoid candles in the bedroom and other areas where people may fall asleep.

Step 5: Plan the take-down

Plan the take-down before the first piece goes up. You'll thank yourself on the last morning, when everyone is tired and check-out is close.

The same goes for setup time. We haven't timed a setup, so there is no honest number to give. The rule of thumb is to do the printing and cutting at home before you leave, since the files arrive by email right after payment and nothing ships. Then keep the setup at the rental for one session, with one friend per spot, after you've asked the host when you can get in.

Photograph each spot before you decorate, so you can match it afterward. Keep a running list of every hook, tape strip and pin you use. Peel tape slowly and at a low angle, and press down any paint that lifts. Stack paper pieces flat in a folder. Bag the balloons and trash before breakfast.

Give the take-down a job and a name. One friend takes the photo wall, one the drinks table, one the bride's room. Start earlier than you think.

Bachelorette party hotel room decorations: what changes

A hotel room is smaller than a rental, and the rules are stricter. Call the front desk and ask what may go on the walls and door, and whether a staff member needs to see anything before check-out.

Drinks tableFull table with flags and toppersCups and flags on the desk or the minibar top

CandlesBattery onlyBattery only

Pick two pieces for a hotel room, not five. The same goes for any room. Count by spots, not by guests: one big piece per spot looks full whether six people come or twelve. Only the small pieces follow your headcount. One set has 16 drink flags, 12 toppers and 18 favor tags, so for a bigger group print that page a second time. A 6.3 ft BRIDE TO BE garland over the headboard and a single 8 x 10 in sign do most of the work. Leave confetti and glitter at home, because housekeeping has to deal with it.

Cheap bachelorette party decorations: what to skip

Paper is the cheapest way to match every piece to one color scheme. Skip the bag of 30 tiny items. One big piece per spot costs less and looks better in photos.

The three printable pieces sold as singles add up to $19, and the bundle is $12, a $7 saving. You still need paper, a printer, string, tape and sticks, and we have no price figure for balloons or other supplies, so check those where you shop.

For a budget, set one number for the whole weekend before anyone buys, and write down what each spot gets. Who pays depends on your group, and we have no source for what is usual. Agree on it in the group chat before the first purchase, whether that means one person covers it or everyone chips in.

Paper and cutting count for the printed pieces

Here is the count for one full set, using the page maps of the three files. Each guide starts with a test print, so print one page first.

PieceSheetsPieces to cut or trim
BRIDE TO BE garland713 pennants

Photo props and speech bubbles714
Cupcake toppers112
Drink flags116
Favor tags218
Total2580

The full set is 25 sheets and 80 pieces. Use plain paper for the drink flags and white cardstock for the rest. Print only the pages you want.

Typing is where The Bachelorette Decor Bundle saves you work. It is one fillable PDF, so you type her name once and it fills the signs, toppers, flags and tags. You open it in Adobe Acrobat Reader (free) or a web browser on a computer, since some built-in viewers don't fill forms.

One limit: the files don't include anything physical. Balloons, string, tape, sticks, frames and easels are yours. If you have no printer and no one to print for you, the printed route is the wrong choice for you, and a handful of balloons and one hand-lettered sign will do the job.

For the rest of the weekend, see the bachelorette party checklist, the packing list and the themes.

FAQ

How to decorate an Airbnb for a bachelorette party?

Ask the host first what may go on the walls, then use tape and hooks made to come off, string a banner between furniture, and put signs on an easel or a table. Use battery candles, not flames, and give yourself time to take everything down before check-out.

What are some cheap decorations for a bachelorette party?

Paper is the cheapest route: a printed pennant banner, a welcome sign, drink flags and photo props cut from cardstock. Skip small items you have to buy in bulk and put one big piece in each spot instead.

What are some good props for a bachelorette party for the bride?

Photo props and speech bubbles on sticks work well at a photo wall. The Printable Bachelorette Decor Pack has 14 of them, 8 illustrated props and 6 speech bubbles, and you add the sticks.

What are some simple decorations for a bachelorette party?

A welcome sign at the door, a pennant banner over the photo wall, and a drinks sign on the table. Three big pieces make a rental look decorated without a long shopping list.

Conclusion

Four spots, one big piece in each, and a take-down you plan before the first piece goes up. That covers a rental or a hotel room without a car full of supplies. Print only the pages for the pieces you chose, do the test print first, and keep every hook and tape strip on a list so the room looks the way it did when you got the key.
